I am Pınar Pinzuti, I was born in İzmir in 1979. I completed my high school education at BAL, my university education at Ankara University and then in Heidenheim, Germany. I live in Milan.

Where is cycling in your life?
Everywhere. Cycling is my hobby, my profession and an indispensable means of transport in my daily life. I work as a bicycle tourism project manager at Bikenomist, based in Milan, and I publish articles on bicycle transport and bicycle tourism in various magazines and newspapers, and during my holidays I go on bicycle tours in different countries by bicycle.

What is bicycle activism?
I think bicycle activism is no different from activism in general. We can say that it is a set of actions that are intentionally carried out to bring about social and political change.
Also, for me, activism means doing things that will attract the attention of those around me in order to make them aware of something I believe in. Bicycles are the most innocent means of transportation in the world. A person who rides a bicycle benefits not only themselves but also the people around them and even contributes to the economy of their country. The reason for my efforts on bicycles is to make the necessary investments to make bicycles recognized as a means of transportation and to make their use widespread all over the world.

How did this tour spread around the world so quickly?
The aim of the tour is to ensure that women can cycle safely on the streets. The message and purpose are very clear.
The Fancy Women Bike Tour was covered by both foreign and local press from the first day. News, special files and interviews about the tour allowed us to reach more people.
Every year, the number of cities where the tour is held and the number of participating women continues to increase. Therefore, the number of people who use bicycles as a means of transportation in their daily lives. This is the most important thing.

What is the secret of the tour's success?
The biggest reason for its success is that it is sincere, voluntary and independent. It is an accessible event; participants do not need to register or pay a fee. We provided women who wanted to organize the tour in their own city with the communication and organizational support they needed, and made them feel that they were an important part of a larger organization.
